Review:
As a boy witnessing the violent death of his entire family, Ruslaan develops into a rather well-mannered man. Ruslaan’s transformation is credited to Major Sameer and his wife. His sole aim is to redeem himself and serve his nation, even defying orders from his supervisor and RAW agent, Mantra.
Here, director Karan L. Butani appears to be primarily concerned with showcasing the valour of his starring man at all costs. Movie glorifies Ruslaan’s ability to conquer obstacles, scripted by Sajawal, Srivastava, and Dave, featuring stylized action and surprising twists This provides the space and justification to incorporate lavish action sequences and stunts (by Vikram Dahiya and Dinesh Subbarayan). The major reveal at the conclusion appears out of place, despite the suspense intensifying from the beginning and being maintained until the end
Aayush Sharma performs admirably on screen, yet in poignant moments, he lacks sincerity. It is challenging for the audience to completely relate to Ruslaan’s inner journey because of his inability to adequately capture the depth of his character’s internal anguish. When it comes to doing some violent action, debutante Sushrii Shreya Mishraa, who plays his love interest Vani, too gets her moment in the spotlight.
The script keeps a consistent cadence, with the exception of a few unnecessary songs. Over the course of the two halves, there are many exciting moments. The way Ruslaan and his accomplice infiltrate and survive the most heinous situations, however, is astonishing in its simplicity and lack of depth. Jagapathi Babu plays a convincing combination of virtuous police work and tender fatherhood for the orphaned kid of a terrorist. The necessary conviction in the writing is absent, though. Furthermore, there may have been a stronger character development. The movie also makes extensive use of patriotic overtones, which, although they do have an emotional resonance of their own, might come across as artificial or unduly simplistic at times. The cinematography of G. Sreenivas Reddy is masterful.
Ruslaan” focuses on entertaining with action, lacking substantial rationale.. If you want action above complex storylines, this formulaic action movie has some exciting moments.
